When you scratch beneath the surface, sadly we see domestic violence often bruises beyond the skin; and although we may not be aware, it lives closer to home than we’d think. More Than Skin Deep is BaptistCare’s initiative to educate on how you can recognise and act on domestic violence.
For over 30 years BaptistCare has provided support to individuals and families impacted by domestic violence.

To help end the cycle of abuse, BaptistCare has a ‘Whole of Family’ approach. We support families through counselling, men’s behaviour change programs, supported accommodation for women and children, as well as no-interest loans.
BaptistCare is accredited as a White Ribbon Workplace, and is committed to establishing a workplace culture of respect and gender equality.
Thank you for supporting the education and awareness of the different types of domestic violence.
Is it only women who are victims?
Violence against anyone is absolutely wrong. BaptistCare stands behind the statistics that clearly show that the majority of domestic violence victims in our country are women. Records from across Australia tell us that women have been the victims of domestic violence at the hands of a male partner three times more often than men, and one woman is killed every week as a result of domestic violence.
